Good morning, beloved,

I am not an organized person. At all. I admit this. I admit that I try to be organized. Try to keep things in one place with labels, label-makers…and yet, if there is a space cleared, somehow stuff gets on it. I have books everywhere. I have laundry. I have a dog who steals whatever she can, whatever she can get away with…ergo, I have dog toys, bones. As you know, I also have a husband and Legos invade my every crevice, doll shoes end up caught in my vacuum. I find gloves (I’ve begun to notice we always have the right handed…) I find socks (don’t even get me started…).

So life is messy around here. We live here. You can tell. However, my desire, my prayer is that our house would be a house that welcomes God. Welcomes His Spirit. We have, as I’ve mentioned before, a whole lot of sinners around here. The Psalm that I found this morning speaks of opening the temple gates to welcome the King of Glory in.

Remembering first that…

The earth belongs to the Lord, and ·everything in it [L its fullness]—
the world and all its ·people [inhabitants].
He ·built [founded] it on the waters
and ·set [established] it on the rivers [Gen. 1:9–10Is. 45:18]. Psalm 24 EXB

Beginning with the truth that this world is truly the Lord’s. As I walk, I want to remember, He called His creation good.

Then God said, “Let the water under the ·sky [heavens] be gathered together so the dry land will appear.” And it happened. 10 God ·named [called] the dry land “earth” and [L he called] the water that was gathered together “seas.” God saw that this was good. Genesis 1:9-10

18 The Lord created the heavens.
He is the God who formed the earth and made it.
He did not ·want [create] it to be ·empty [or formless; chaotic; Gen. 1:2],
but he ·wanted life on the earth [L formed it to be inhabited].
This is what the Lord says:
“I am the Lord. There is no other God. Isaiah 45:18

He wanted life. The Lord did not want empty, He wanted life. As I invite the Lord into my day, as we invite Him into our home today…

Who may go up on the mountain of the Lord [C Zion, the location of the Temple]?

From Ness Harim, looking towards Jerusalem in the winter. Photo by Hanan Cohen

Who may stand in his holy ·Temple [L place]?
Only those with clean hands and pure hearts [C innocent in actions and thoughts],
who have not ·worshiped idols [L lifted their souls to false things],
who have not made promises ·in the name of a false god [or deceitfully].
They will receive a blessing from the Lord;
the God who ·saves [rescues; T delivers] them will ·declare them right [vindicate them].
·They try to follow God [L This is the generation/people of those who seek him];
they ·look to the God of Jacob for help [L search for your face, O God of Jacob]. ·Selah[Interlude]

I cleanse my hands. I cleanse my heart. I know that Jesus’ blood is what saves me. God’s plan to rescue, deliver and vindicate us was a plan that included His Son paying the price for sin. Lord, I seek Your face this morning. Snow covers the trees, the ground, even the fences…

we have a lot of snow!

The Lord says,
“Come, let us ·talk about these things [reason together; or settle this matter; or consider your options].
Though your sins are like scarlet [C stained with blood; vv. 1521],
they can be as white as snow.
Though your sins are ·deep red [L red as crimson/purple],
they can be white like wool. Isaiah 1 EXB

I remember. I remember His grace. I love this picture of reasoning together, settling, considering with the Lord. This is a relationship. The Lord is waiting.

·Open up [L Lift up your heads], you gates.
·Open wide [L Be lifted up], you ·aged [ancient] doors
and the ·glorious King [King of glory] will come in.
Who is this ·glorious King [King of glory]?
The Lord, strong and mighty.
The Lord, ·the powerful warrior [mighty in battle].
·Open up [L Lift up your heads], you gates.
·Open wide [L Be lifted up], you ·aged [ancient] doors
and the ·glorious King [King of glory] will come in.
10 Who is this ·glorious King [King of glory]?
The Lord ·All-Powerful [of Heaven’s Armies/T Hosts]—
he is the ·glorious King [King of glory]. ·Selah [Interlude] Psalm 24 EXB

We lift up our heads. We open our doors. We ask You, King of glory, Lord of the Angel armies, please come in. Make our hearts your home.

My thankfuls today:

Three ugly/beautiful gifts (Ann Voskamp, Joy Dare):

A photo-montage of fireworks from a Guy Fawkes Night display at Roundwood Park in Harlesden, London. Eight separate images were merged together into one Billy Hicks

Good morning, beloved,

If you turn on the radio or television, most likely, you will inundated with a year in review. As I listen, I think back on all God has done this past year. How about you? Are you pondering your year in review? What comes first to your mind? I think there is benefit in reviewing a year, what you have learned, what God has done, ponder and count your blessing one by one.

Being with my brother these last few days, we spent some time remembering humorous stories from our youth. Remembering our grandparents. Remembering times of good and bad, we have a shared history. We all ache with the loss of our loved ones. We ache for times of innocence and yet, I would not ever want to endure puberty again. I would never want to go back to high school again. You get the point. Some things are better left in the rear view mirror.

I heard my girl singing this song the other day, I know I’ve shared it with you. Such a good reminder:

Yet I think God has another plan for our thoughts. Check out these verses from Isaiah 43:

A river in the Ansel Adams Wilderness by Eric T Gunther

18 Do not [earnestly] remember the former things; neither consider the things of old.

19 Behold, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs forth; do you not perceive and know it and will you not give heed to it? I will even make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.

I wonder about these verses. I wonder. Isaiah 43 is one of my favorite chapters of the Bible to recall and encourage myself and others.

Isaiah 43:

He Who created you, O Jacob, and He Who formed you, O Israel: Fear not, for I have redeemed you [ransomed you by paying a price instead of leaving you captives]; I have called you by your name; you are Mine.

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you, and through the rivers, they will not overwhelm you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned or scorched, nor will the flame kindle upon you.

For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior; I give Egypt [to the Babylonians] for your ransom, Ethiopia and Seba [a province of Ethiopia] in exchange [for your release].

Because you are precious in My sight and honored, and because I love you, I will give men in return for you and peoples in exchange for your life.

Even everyone who is called by My name, whom I have created for My glory, whom I have formed, whom I have made.

Makes me smile every time I read it. I know passing through the waters. I know fires that burn. Yet I also know the God who calls me precious, who loves me. Loves you.

He asks us to look to the new things He is doing.

Revelation 21:

Then I saw a new sky (heaven) and a new earth, for the former sky and the former earth had passed away (vanished), and there no longer existed any sea.

And I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God, all arrayed like a bride beautified and adorned for her husband;

Then I heard a mighty voice from the throne and I perceived its distinct words, saying, See! The abode of God is with men, and He will live (encamp, tent) among them; and they shall be His people, and God shall personally be with them and be their God.

God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and death shall be no more, neither shall there be anguish (sorrow and mourning) nor grief nor pain any more, for the old conditionsand the former order of things have passed away.

And He Who is seated on the throne said, See! I make all things new. Also He said, Record this, for these sayings are faithful (accurate, incorruptible, and trustworthy) and true (genuine).

So maybe this year, I need to be thinking more about what He is about to do. More longing for what is to come. Less mourning for the past, less looking back over my shoulder, sad for what is gone…God has new things He is doing. Are we looking for the new? Or always pondering the old…

My thankfuls today:

83. Phones

84. Cortisone shots

Happy New Year, friends. Pray on. Pray on.

Holy Mother Mary with Child Jesus by unknown

O beloved,

As you wander through your day today, ponder this faith. The faith of a young girl to say yes. Yes, whatever You desire for me..may it all happen as You design. I just wonder about Mary. She must have realized that God‘s plan was finally rolling out. Four hundred years of God’s silence was broken in one night. Shattered. The Messiah was coming. He was actually coming. She knew the prophecy from Isaiah!

Breath of Heaven by Amy Grant

Isaiah 7: 14 Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.

I want to take that verse apart. Want to join me?

First of all let’s look at the context of this one verse.

From the commentary of Dr. Grant C. Richison:

During the reign of the evil King Ahaz, war brok out between Judah and Israel. Pekah, the king of Israel, entered into an alliance with the King of Syria (Rezin). The latter two went to Jerusalem to besiege it.

When Judah’s King Ahaz learned of the coalition against him, his heart sank along with his people. He was an evil king and could not reasonably expect God’s intervention for him. But God had not given up on Judah. God sent the prophet Isaiah to Ahaz to give him a promise of the perpetuity of Judah.
The message from Isaiah was one of comfort. Even though the kings of Israel and Syria formed a confederacy against him, God will intervene. Isaiah told Ahaz to ask for a sign to authenticate the promise from God. He refused. So Isaiah gave a sign from God, “and shall call His name Immanuel” (Isaiah 7:14).
The Lord was asking this King to ask Him for anything. And Ahaz refused. WHAT?!? So you see, the Lord gave a sign anyway. And it was an amazing one at that! Let’s look at the Hebrew words in this verse.
Lord: title, spoken in place of Yahweh in Jewish display of reverence
give:  to be given, be bestowed, be provided, be entrusted to, be granted to, be permitted, be issued, be published, be uttered, be assigned
sign:  token, ensign, standard, miracle, proof
virgin:  virgin, young woman
bear:  to be born
Namereputation, fame, glory, the Name (as designation of God)
Immanuel: two words: 1. ‘el– God, the one true God, Jehovah 2. `Immanuw’el– symbolic and prophetic name of the Messiah, the Christ, prophesying that He would be born of a virgin and would be ‘God with us
That word, Immanuw’el, humbles me. I’m very sure that even when Isaiah spoke the name Lord, he was very sure of the reverence due his God.  Oh friends, how often do you hear His name profaned? How often do we use His name without reverence? How often do we cringe when we hear it abused? The Breath of Heaven is due so much more. He was and is God with us.
My thankfuls today:
27. I’m thankful for my husband, taxi driver today.
28. I’m thankful for a very kind landlord.
29. I’m so very thankful that God is with me.
How about you? What are your thankfuls this day?? God is with you. You are never, ever alone.
Pray on. Pray on.

“So trust in the Lord (commit yourself to Him, lean on Him, hope confidently in Him) forever; for the Lord God is an everlasting Rock [the Rock of Ages].” Isaiah 26:4

Good afternoon, friends,

Hosanna, in the highest…we cry out to YOU, Lord. We cry in the midst of the desert. To You, O LORD, we commit our ways.

We commit ourselves to YOU.

We lean on You.

Landscape , Geography of Israel by אלי קובין

Listening to music as I pick out pictures, I am reminded how critical it is I go back to what I know to be true.

The battle of the hard for us, is it not?

We need. No, crave peace. Can we find that without Him?

Um. Nope.

In fact, I’m living proof of that fact.

So I lean on the Word. I lean into the music that proclaims His Word. His Truth.

And I tell that roaring lion, Satan…he has no place here.

This land is Jesus’.

I’m Jesus’ kid.

I’m not who the lies whisper I am.

I’m free.

I’m Yours.

I’m not a plaything for the evil one.

We place our hope confidently in You. FOREVER.

How Great is our God. Name above all names.

18 And therefore the Lord [earnestly] waits [expecting, looking, and longing] to be gracious to you; and therefore He lifts Himself up, that He may have mercy on you and show loving-kindness to you. For the Lord is a God of justice. Blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) are all those who [earnestly] wait for Him, who expect and look and long for Him [for His victory, His favor, His love, His peace, His joy, and His matchless, unbroken companionship!] Isaiah 30:18

landscape, Cities in Israel by נירית זוהר

He is longing to be gracious to you.

Think of this, friends. Longing…

To show loving-kindness…

Wait for Him..

Look and long for His victory..

His favor..

His love..

His peace..

His joy…

His matchless companionship..

We are never, ever alone. His companionship is what we long for…no one can fill the longing that can be met in Him and Him alone.

Father, I cry to YOU and ask You to do what You want in my life. I give it all to You. It was always Yours anyway.

I just open my hand to You.

Cleanse me.

Renew me.

I love You, Lord…to You, O Lord. Worship Him. Adore Him. Clinging to the promise that You are not through with me yet.

Light by motolaura

Good morning, beloved,

This picture is a perfect example of where I left off with my last blog. I love how the light illuminates all that it touches. Not a blazing torch, this little light shines in the encroaching darkness. Outside of the ring of light, darkness falls. This light stands proudly.

I typed out that blog last night and then the darkness fell around us. Luke had struggled with this terrible headache and when we asked more questions, the dog ran into him full speed. Every time he turned his neck the pain was worse. Blurry vision, not good in my book. And friends, as I look back at the experience, my sadness was all of this wonder and light I had mined earlier,  I left it behind.  Then I felt a lump in his neck and my worry was off to the races.  All day had been a struggle of my mind and my family took the brunt of my frustration. Everyone else has a clean house. Everyone else can get their kids to help. Good mercies, as I type it out its sludge. And when I had taken the time to write the blog in the afternoon, my spirits lifted. Then we came down to find that the dog had eaten all the chicken off the counter. One of the kid’s salads was gone.  And Luke most certainly had not eaten it. I still don’t have a phone. Sludge. Sludge. Thinking about this upcoming week..SLAM!

Thankfully, Luke has muscles pulled in his neck and no spinal or bone injuries. It was necessary to get ice cream at 10pm. You know it. Ahem. Once the turtle sundae and  reading truth had run its course, bed.

I begin my blog today saying, even with all the best study of the Word, Satan‘s attacks come when we feeling weakest. I am a child of the King. I love His Word. Satan knows my weaknesses. When my neighbor, who is a nurse, looked at Luke’s neck gave me a look, my fear shot through the roof. Neurological issues and me family seem to walk hand in hand. Normally, I can deal when I am ready. Ahh, there’s the ticket. Right? In warfare, preparation is having His Word in hand all the time. And if I look back through my day, my fear and worry began with money worries (looking ahead? what?). Then continued as I compared my house to others. Then I would think about the week ahead with Daniel in the hospital and home run! Now, what if instead, I had talked with Joshua and prayed together.

And then had…Psalm 119: 105 Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. Ah.

Volunteer Park, Capitol Hill, Seattle by Tom Harpel from Seattle, Washington

Well, let’s finish this day of light in my study together and then take it with us. 🙂

Isaiah 49: 6 He says, It is too light a thing that you should be My servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob and to restore the survivors [of the judgments] of Israel; I will also give you for a light to the nations, that My salvation may extend to the end of the earth.

Isaiah 60: 19 The sun shall no more be your light by day, nor for brightness shall the moon give light to you, but the Lord shall be to you an everlasting light, and your God your glory and your beauty.

20 Your sun shall no more go down, nor shall your moon withdraw itself, for the Lord shall be your everlasting light, and the days of your mourning shall be ended.

Think of the promises loaded into these verses. God is timeless. We are set in a certain time. The sun and moon will no longer be needed. God will be our light forever and ever and ever. 🙂

Everlasting: long duration, antiquity, futurity, for ever, ever, everlasting, evermore, perpetual, old, ancient, world LIGHT.

Matthew 4: 16 The people who sat (dwelt enveloped) in darkness have seen a great Light, and for those who sat in the land and shadow of death Light has dawned.

A powerful light shining in the dark. by Zouavman Le Zouave

Matthew 6:22 The eye is the lamp of the body. So if your eye is sound, your entire body will be full of light.23 But if your eye is unsound, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the very light in you [your conscience] is darkened, how dense is that darkness!

John 1:4 In Him was Life, and the Life was the Light of men.

And the Light shines on in the darkness, for the darkness has never overpowered it [put it out or absorbed it or appropriated it, and is unreceptive to it].

There came a man sent from God, whose name was John.

This man came to witness, that he might testify of the Light, that all men might believe in it [adhere to it, trust it, and rely upon it] through him.

He was not the Light himself, but came that he might bear witness regarding the Light.

There it was—the true Light [was then] coming into the world [the genuine, perfect, steadfast Light] that illumines every person.

Jesus shines in the darkness. In the properties of light, one only needs to look at the first picture in this blog and you see the next sentence: truth. Darkness does not envelope this light. The light is not overpowered. Put out. Or absorbed. Jesus shines brighter.

Acts 26:18 To open their eyes that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may thus receive forgiveness and release from their sins and a placeand portion among those who are consecrated and purified by faith in Me.

Ephesians 5:8 For once you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord; walk as children of Light [lead the lives of those native-born to the Light].

1 John 1: 5 And this is the message [the message of promise] which we have heard from Him and now are reporting to you: God is Light, and there is no darkness in Him at all [no, not in any way].[So] if we say we are partakers together and enjoy fellowship with Him when we live andmove and are walking about in darkness, we are [both] speaking falsely and do not live andpractice the Truth [which the Gospel presents].But if we [really] are living and walking in the Light, as He [Himself] is in the Light, we have [true, unbroken] fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses (removes) us from all sin and guilt [keeps us cleansed from sin in all its forms and manifestations].

Revelation 21:23 And the city has no need of the sun nor of the moon to give light to it, for the splendor and radiance (glory) of God illuminate it, and the Lamb is its lamp.

Friends, if we are children of the Light then we can not play in the darkness. We have been release from our sins and given a place and been purified by faith! We have light because of the Lord! Look at what gifts we have when we walk in the LIGHT…

  1. fellowship with Him
  2. fellowship with one another
  3. the blood of Jesus cleanses REMOVES all sin and guilt and keeps us cleansed from sin in all forms and manifestations…

Can I get an amen? Friends, the blood of Jesus never will lose power!

Pray on, friends. Pray on.

They did not thirst when He led them…Isaiah 48:21

Crepuscular rays at sunset near Waterberg Plateau (Wabi Game Ranch) in Namibia. by Alchemist-hp (talk) (

Good morningish, beloved,

My apologies for the late start today, I was ambushed by a crusher of a migraine around 2am and have felt the effects until recently. So very grateful to be in my parents’ house overnight, as you can imagine this is making my achy head more bearable.  We came to help with the garden yesterday.  Some good things came yesterday and today, we have Danny’s MEG date (Magnetic Electroencephalogram) and EEG in hospital all scheduled for the second week of July. Also, we are very close to the family out-of-pocket maximum for our insurance. So, we are thinking of all that we should carry out medically…before the end of the year! My brother, who just got his Master’s, got the job he was hoping for today in his town! My nieces and nephew are coming into town in three wake-ups as my kids like to say. 🙂 So good things to focus my eyes on, all gifts from the King of Kings…you are reading these thoughts, this is His blog. He is teaching, I am learning.  And I get to share His Word, it’s all good. So rich.

Last night, in the middle of the night, God gave me a precious song I haven’t heard in a very long time. A must share with all of you…

Here are the words:

To the King who gave everything for me
Who’s body crucified high on Calvary’s tree
Who’s redemptive blood makes way for me
I now give everything

To the King who came in the form of a child
All-powerful God, and yet, so mild
Who’s obedience shows the way for me
I humbly come to Thee

To the King alone I will give my life
To the King I will sing both day and night
To the lamb of God who has paid the price
To the King alone I will give my life

To the King, the one true royalty
Though King, He has befriended me
But greater still! He lives in me!
I give Him everything

Repeat Chorus

I mean seriously…Greater still, He lives in me! I give Him everything!

Well, day two in the teachings of the Word on righteousness, ready to dive in with me? (BTW, have you seen that Steven Curtis Chapman has a new CD out and he remade Dive?  My husband missed the beat…I kinda liked it with a nautical feel..)

Anyway, back at it, sorry,

Jeremiah 9:1 Oh, that my head were waters and my eyes a reservoir of tears…(boy do I know how he feels…but that’s not the verses…ok, that was heretical..)

9: 23 Thus says the Lord: Let not the wise and skillful person glory and boast in his wisdom and skill; let not the mighty and powerful person glory and boast in his strength and power; let not the person who is rich [in physical gratification and earthly wealth] glory and boast in his [temporal satisfactions and earthly] riches;

24 But let him who glories glory in this: that he understands and knows Me [personally and practically, directly discerning and recognizing My character], that I am the Lord, Who practices loving-kindness, judgment, and righteousness in the earth, for in these things I delight, says the Lord.

Let’s glory in this:

  1. That he understands and knows Me (personally, practically, directly discerning and recognizing My character)..
  2. That I AM the Lord: who practices loving-kindness (covenant word!), judgement, righteousness in the earth..
  3. In these things I delight (of God, to delight in, have pleasure in, to be pleased to do)..

Don’t glory in this:

  1. Your wisdom
  2. Your skill as a person
  3. Your might
  4. Your power
  5. Your riches (physical gratification and earthly wealth) (temporal satisfactions..)

Let’s look through some of the men of Scripture:

David:Psalm 27:

One thing have I asked of the Lord, that will I seek, inquire for, and [insistently] require: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord [in His presence] all the days of my life, to beholdand gaze upon the beauty [the sweet attractiveness and the delightful loveliness] of the Lord and to meditate, consider, and inquire in His temple.

For in the day of trouble He will hide me in His shelter; in the secret place of His tent will He hide me; He will set me high upon a rock.

And now shall my head be lifted up above my enemies round about me; in His tent I will offer sacrifices and shouting of joy; I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to the Lord.

Psalm 63:1 O God, You are my God, earnestly will I seek You; my inner self thirsts for You, my flesh longs and is faint for You, in a dry and weary land where no water is.

Psalm 143:

I spread forth my hands to You; my soul thirsts after You like a thirsty land [for water]. Selah [pause, and calmly think of that]!

Answer me speedily, O Lord, for my spirit fails; hide not Your face from me, lest I become like those who go down into the pit (the grave)

IsaiahIsaiah 6:

In the year that King Uzziah died, [in a vision] I saw the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and the skirts of His train filled the [most holy part of the] temple.

Above Him stood the seraphim; each had six wings: with two [each] covered his [own] face, and with two [each] covered his feet, and with two [each] flew.

And one cried to another and said, Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; the whole earth is full of His glory!

And the foundations of the thresholds shook at the voice of him who cried, and the house was filled with smoke.

Then said I, Woe is me! For I am undone and ruined, because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts!

Then flew one of the seraphim [heavenly beings] to me, having a live coal in his hand which he had taken with tongs from off the altar;

And with it he touched my mouth and said, Behold, this has touched your lips; your iniquity and guilt are taken away, and your sin is completely atoned for and forgiven.

Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send? And who will go for Us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.

Isaiah 55:

Seek, inquire for, and require the Lord while He may be found [claiming Him by necessity and by right]; call upon Him while He is near.

Let the wicked forsake his way and the unrighteous man his thoughts; and let him return to the Lord, and He will have love, pity, and mercy for him, and to our God, for He will multiply to him His abundant pardon.

For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways, says the Lord.

For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts.

10 For as the rain and snow come down from the heavens, and return not there again, but water the earth and make it bring forth and sprout, that it may give seed to the sower and bread to the eater,

11 So shall My word be that goes forth out of My mouth: it shall not return to Me void [without producing any effect, useless], but it shall accomplish that which I please andpurpose, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.

Moses: Exodus 33:

Now Moses used to take [his own] tent and pitch it outside the camp, far off from the camp, and he called it the tent of meeting [of God with His own people]. And everyone who sought the Lord went out to [that temporary] tent of meeting which was outside the camp.

When Moses went out to the tent of meeting, all the people rose and stood, every man at his tent door, and looked after Moses until he had gone into the tent.

When Moses entered the tent, the pillar of cloud would descend and stand at the door of the tent, and the Lord would talk with Moses.

10 And all the people saw the pillar of cloud stand at the tent door, and all the people rose up and worshiped, every man at his tent door.

11 And the Lord spoke to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend. Moses returned to the camp, but his minister Joshua son of Nun, a young man, did not depart from the [temporary prayer] tent.

12 Moses said to the Lord, See, You say to me, Bring up this people, but You have not let me know whom You will send with me. Yet You said, I know you by name and you have also found favor in My sight.

13 Now therefore, I pray You, if I have found favor in Your sight, show me now Your way, that I may know You [progressively become more deeply and intimately acquainted with You, perceiving and recognizing and understanding more strongly and clearly] and that I may find favor in Your sight. And [Lord, do] consider that this nation is Your people.

14 And the Lord said, My Presence shall go with you, and I will give you rest.

15 And Moses said to the Lord, If Your Presence does not go with me, do not carry us up from here!

16 For by what shall it be known that I and Your people have found favor in Your sight? Is it not in Your going with us so that we are distinguished, I and Your people, from all the other people upon the face of the earth?

Paul: Philippians 3:7-14

But whatever former things I had that might have been gains to me, I have come to consider as [[a]one combined] loss for Christ’s sake.

Yes, furthermore, I count everything as loss compared to the possession of the priceless privilege (the overwhelming preciousness, the surpassing worth, and supreme advantage) of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord and of progressively becoming more deeply and intimately acquainted with Him [of perceiving and recognizing and understanding Him more fully and clearly]. For His sake I have lost everything and consider it all to be mere rubbish (refuse, dregs), in order that I may win (gain) Christ (the Anointed One),

And that I may [actually] be found and known as in Him, not having any [self-achieved] righteousness that can be called my own, based on my obedience to the Law’s demands (ritualistic uprightness and supposed right standing with God thus acquired), but possessing that [genuine righteousness] which comes through faith in Christ (the Anointed One), the [truly] right standing with God, which comes from God by [saving] faith.

10 [For my determined purpose is] that I may know Him [that I may progressively become more deeply and intimately acquainted with Him, perceiving and recognizing and understanding the wonders of His Person more strongly and more clearly], and that I may in that same way come to know the power outflowing from His resurrection [[b]which it exerts over believers], and that I may so share His sufferings as to be continually transformed [in spirit into His likeness even] to His death, [in the hope]

11 That if possible I may attain to the [[c]spiritual and moral] resurrection [that lifts me] out from among the dead [even while in the body].

12 Not that I have now attained [this ideal], or have already been made perfect, but I press on to lay hold of (grasp) andmake my own, that for which Christ Jesus (the Messiah) has laid hold of me and made me His own.

13 I do not consider, brethren, that I have captured and made it my own [yet]; but one thing I do [it is my one aspiration]: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead,

14 I press on toward the goal to win the [supreme and heavenly] prize to which God in Christ Jesus is calling us upward.

How about that for a spiritual punch in the arm today? Amen. Amen. Amen. 🙂 Well, beloved of God as my study so aptly says today, “what makes you different? What is it about you that brings pleasure and glory to God?” (p.43 SOTM)

Memory verse practice: Matthew 5:6 Blessed and fortunate and happy and [g]spiritually prosperous (in that state in which the born-again child of God [h]enjoys His favor and salvation) are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness (uprightness and right standing with God), for they shall be [i]completely satisfied!

Pray on, friends. Pray on.
